Tendencies v9; Strategic Changes


Hello everyone! I hope you enjoy this update; quite a lot has changed in this update. I wanted to make Tendencies' combat play a bit more strategically; along with adding a more consistent level of quality for all playbooks and moves. Durability has been removed, Damage has been changed in how it functions, and many other changes have occurred. I will be leaving the previous version up, v8.6, just in case these changes turn out not to be what's best for the game. -Edit passes have been made by Briar Sovereign 

-Vitality Variety Transformative Tendency has been removed due to balance concerns 

-Forme Varity Transformative Tendency has been added; goes from Gear to Free Willed 

-Edits to other Transformative Varieties for balancing have been made 

-New cover art has been added, and previous cover art has been moved to Chapter Three 

-Edits to playbooks have been made -Cartoonish has been renamed Contentious, and moves have been edited to be more in line with this change. 

-Delinquent has had moves removed and added 

-Egotistical has had moves removed and added 

-Bellicose has been drastically revamped to encourage the use of moves

-Minor edits to Eager 

-Joyous has had moves removed and added. 

-Mentor has had moves removed and added. 

-Nobody has had moves removed and added. 

-Minor edits to Reliant. 

-Star has had moves removed and added. 

-Trickster has had major move edits 

-Minor edits to Vessel 

-Minor edits to Willed 

-Minor edits to other playbooks have been made 

-Slight edits to Money; GM can now determine certain items require a cost 

-Gear Ranges have had changes made to the damage they do 

-New Class Modifiers have been added 

-Enemy Tenacity has been edited; they no longer have thresholds to block damage 

-Take Aim has been edited 

-Major Edits have been made to Player Range/Damage Function. You now deal 4 Damage at your Range regardless of what it is, but deal decreasing damage as you make attacks further out of your effective Range. This change should hopefully encourage players to use their abilities more regardless of range, and encourage consideration in how they position themselves. 

-Edits have been made to character creation: Overall stats must add up to a +2 instead of a +3, and no health can be added at character creation unless if taken via an advance. 

-The Health Advance immediately available at levels 1-10 has been bumped up to 4 HP, to make it more robust and useful 

-DRB has been removed, with its moves being given to either PWR or SPR. This change should help create builds with less dead space, and overall make the game more concise 

-Taking Blows now allows you to use either your SPR or PWR to help reduce damage. This change should help make a build that utilizes Taking Blows over Swift Lean easier to achieve.
